Welcoming Richard Greco, DO, to the Titan SGS® Community

We are proud to welcome Richard Greco, DO, of the Hackensack Meridian Health System at Bayshore Medical Center in Holmdel, NJ, to the growing community of Titan SGS® users.

Dr. Greco recently completed his 20th sleeve gastrectomy case using the anatomy-based approach of Titan SGS. Dr. Greco and Jonathan Reich, MD, (pictured) represent the NJ Weight Loss Doctors, a team of bariatric surgeons recognized on a state and national level for their commitment to patients.

Dr. Greco completed his fellowship training in minimally invasive and bariatric surgery at Hackensack University Medical Center and was the recipient of the Society of Laparoscopic and Robotic Surgeons Outstanding Laparoendoscopic Resident Award.

Titan SGS reaches global milestone: First international operations completed in Qatar

We’re excited to announce that as of June 2, 2023, Moataz Bashah, PhD, FACS, FEBS, FRCSG, completed the first series of sleeve gastrectomies using the Titan SGS® 23 cm linear stapler outside the United States in Doha, Qatar. This significant milestone was achieved in partnership with Al-Danah Medical Co. W.L.L. and marks the introduction of Titan SGS and its anatomy-based approach to sleeve gastrectomy pouch creation to patients around the world.

Dr. Bashah leads a comprehensive group of bariatric surgeons and medical bariatricians at Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) where he is the Director of the Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery. The Bariatric Surgery Program at HMC consists of a two-hospital campus and serves over 3 million people. Hamad Medical Corporation completes nearly one thousand bariatric operations a year. Between May 28 and June 2, Dr. Bashah performed 17 sleeve gastrectomy operations using the Titan SGS stapler at the HMC main hospital and at their satellite facility at Al Wakra Medical Center.

HMC is an academic institution affiliated with Weil Cornell University Medical School and is recognized as an ASMBS Center of Excellence. HMC has a long history of excellence in surgery and is known for performing innovative operations with ground-breaking technology. Dr. Bashah is a fellow of the American Society of Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (FASMBS), the Gulf Obesity Surgery Society (GOSS) and the Pan Arab Obesity Society of Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (PASMBS).
